The First 60 years of the Apostolic Assembly
Our first endeavor to preserve in written fashion the history of the Apostolic Assembly In the United States of America was accomplished by a team composed of pioneers Antonio Nava and José Ortega Aguilar, And three distinguished pastors of that time, Isaac H. Cota, Ernesto S. Cantú and Phillip Rangel. The Commission for the Apostolic Assembly’s Historical Redaction culminated its investigation in 1966 interviewing many of the pioneers that were still alive. Additionally, the book published the first five acts of the first convention in 1925 and incorporated part of the general convention acts from 1926 to 1965.This is another reason for the historical value of this document; its strength is in the written historical documents of the organization. Their work was published in 1966, crowning the festivities of the Apostolic Assembly’s quinquagenary. The General Board of Directors agreed in 1965, that the year 1916 would be recognized as the historic year of our corporation’s beginning, mostly for being the rear when the first pioneering trio connected: Francisco Llorente, Marcial de la Cruz and Antonio C. Nava
